Schumer Claims Republicans ‘Using Russian Propaganda’ Against Biden With ‘Sham Hearings’

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is doing the best he can to take the spotlight away from the scandal that is pressing down on Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden when he was Vice President of the Obama Administration.

On the Senate floor yesterday, he said that the Senate the Republican-led Homeland Security committee was “prioritizing yet another attempt to smear Vice President Biden.”

He followed that up with a tweet where he used the Coronavirus pandemic as cover and decried Senate Republicans for “holding sham hearings and turning committee rooms into studios for Fox News.”

In the middle of this public health crisis and economic disaster, Senate Republicans are acting like the conspiracy caucus. We need to focus on helping Americans. But Senate Republicans are holding sham hearings and turning committee rooms into studios for Fox News.

From Breitbart: During a speech on the Senate floor on Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) stated that by holding a hearing to subpoena a firm linked to Burisma, the Senate Homeland Security Committee was “promoting conspiracy theories that have already been discredited” and “using Russian propaganda” to slander “the family of the president’s political opponent.”

Earlier in the day, the Senate committee Schumer referenced moved to approve the subpoena for which Schumer was referring.

Schumer said, “Today, in the Homeland Security Committee, the Republican chairman has convened a hearing that slanders the family of the president’s political opponent. Believe it or not, this powerful Senate committee, with broad jurisdiction over so many aspects of the government’s response to the ongoing pandemic, is prioritizing yet another attempt to smear Vice President Biden. The Committee could be holding a hearing today with the FEMA administrator to discuss disaster assistance, but no, the highest priority of Senate Republicans lies in promoting conspiracy theories that have already been discredited on numerous occasions. Conspiracy theories which, by the way, are known to be part of the Russian disinformation campaigns. Our Republican majority is using Russian propaganda to try and damage a political opponent.”
