Bryan Kohberger was arrested early Friday morning in connection to the murder of four University of Idaho students who were discovered stabbed to death in Moscow Idaho on November 13th.
Kohberger was arrested in Pennsylvania, as he had traveled there after finishing his first graduate semester at WSU Pullman, which is approximately 15 minutes from Moscow, Idaho. Before attending WSU Pullman for his graduate studies, Kohberger attended DeSales University where he procured a bachelor’s and a master’s in criminal justice.
While at DeSales, Kohberger studied under Dr. Katherine Ramsland, who authored serial killer BTK’s autobiography. BTK stands for bind, torture, kill, a name Dennis Lynn Rader gave himself in notes he wrote, which terrorized the city of Wichita where he committed his heinous acts. After 30 years BTK was finally caught in 2004.
The revelation of this connection leaves BTK’s daughter, Kerri Rawson unsettled as she told News Nation’s, Brian Entin, “My first reaction was my stomach turned and I literally physically got ill”.
Entin asked Rawson if she thought Kohberger was in communication with her father, she thought it could be possible and pointed to the fact that he has studied her father, and speculated that it may have been in-depth since Ramsland was one of his teachers.
Rawson said, “we need to find out if there is a deeper connection, it concerns me.” Entin then pointed out that Kohberger would have had access to communicating with BTK because Ramsland was his professor.
Entin also reached out to Ramsland for comment, Ramsland told him she couldn’t comment on Kohberger at this time.
“My first reaction was my stomach turned and I literally physically got ill.”

Jordan Serulneck, the owner of Seven Sirens Brewing Company, shared with NBC News, that Kohlberger had been to the brewery a few times and that according to his staff he would make “creepy comments”.
Staff had added notes that would come up in the system when his ID was scanned. According to Serulneck, the comments read, “Hey, this guy makes creepy comments, keep an eye on him. He’ll have two or three beers and then just get a little too comfortable.”
He went on to add that Kohberger would ask female staff and customers, where they lived and what their work schedule was like, and if they didn’t answer he would get upset.
Serulneck confronted Kohberger about his “creepy” questions. Serulnekc told NBC News:
“I went up to him and I said, ‘Hey Bryan, welcome back. We appreciate you coming back. … I just wanted to talk to you real quick and make sure that you’re going to be respectful this time and we’re not going to have any issues,'” he said. “And he was completely taken aback. He was shocked that I was saying that, and he said, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about. You totally have me confused.’”
After this interaction, Kohberger didn’t return.
Kohberger could be back in Idaho as early as Tuesday. According to his lawyer, Kohberger said, he is “eager to be exonerated” and “looks forward to resolving these matters as soon as possible.”
Once he is back in Idaho and has been formally charged it appears there may be more information available to the public.
The murders in Moscow have put the community, as well as the country on edge, with a suspect in custody some of that has gone away. Now people, it seems, are digging into the alleged murderer’s background.
