State Rep Anthony Sabatini Touts DeSantis Move to Pass Legislation Banning Private Sector Vaccine Mandates

Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis held a press conference today where he announced a move to call state lawmakers back to work early to pass legislation to combat COVID vaccine mandates enacted by businesses.

Although he didn’t specify a starting date, DeSantis said he will convene a special session of the GOP-controlled statehouse next month to address private sector vaccine requirements.

GOP State Rep Anthony Sabatini touted the move in an “exclusive” tweet where he tagged DeSantis having “just announced an Emergency Legislative Session to BAN private sector employee vaccine mandates.”

“For the last 3 months, I’ve been the SOLE voice in the Florida Legislature fighting for this. This is a HUGE WIN for medical freedom and a HUGE L for RINOs,” Sabatini explained.

Sabatini also provided a link for people to visit if they want to sign an online petition to “BAN vaccine and mask mandates” in a follow up tweet.

During the news conference, DeSantis said, “At the end of the day, you shouldn’t be discriminated against based on your health decisions. We want to provide protection for people, we want to make it clear that, in Florida, your right to earn a living is not contingent upon whatever choices you’re making in terms of these injections.”

DeSantis pointed out that his state isn’t in a state of emergency and that regardless, he didn’t want to make an edict, rather get it passed through the legislature like it is supposed to be done.

Following the press conference, DeSantis tweeted out a modified version of the Gadsden Flag which featured an alligator instead of a snake and read, “Don’t tread on Florida.”
