Ted Cruz Backtracks, Tells Tucker Carlson He Made a ‘Mistake’ to Refer to Jan. 6 as a ‘Violent Terrorist Attack’

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson held U.S. Sen Ted Cruz (R-TX) “accountable” tonight in an interview after Cruz referred to Jan. 6 as a “violent terrorist attack.”

Cruz ultimately backtracked, admitting that he made a “mistake” by categorizing it as such, acknowledging that he gave fuel to the left and wasn’t specific by his intent.

Carlson was not buying what Cruz was attempting to sell at first as Cruz tried to suggest that the way he “phrased things yesterday, it was sloppy and frankly it was dumb..”

“I don’t buy that. Whoa, woah, woah! I don’t buy that!” Carlson interjected.

The Columbia Bugle tweeted about that suggestion, “Big agree with Tucker. Not buying it either.”

Prior to that, The Columbia Bugle said in a tweet, “Thank you Tucker Carlson for holding elected Republicans to the standard we deserve.”

“We invite all elected Republicans to improve accordingly. Most of you followed weak GOP Leadership into a ditch and wasted 2021. There’s still plenty of work to do. Get started,” the outlet added in a reply tweet.

Sports journalist Jason Whitlock later came on Carlson’s program and praised him for the interview which he said held Cruz “accountable.”

Carlson had called Cruz out last night for his comments in a segment where he asked, “What the hell is going on here?”

“You’re making us think that maybe the Republican Party is as worthless as we suspected it was,” Carlson lamented
