We reported earlier that Southwest Airlines blamed bad weather and air traffic control (ATC) as the reasons they have had to cancel almost 2000 flights this weekend.
U.S. Sen Ted Cruz (R-TX) pulled no punches in making his own assessments on what he believes was the cause of the cancelations and pinned the blame on President Joe Biden.
“Joe Biden’s illegal vaccine mandate at work! Suddenly, we’re short on pilots & air traffic controllers. #ThanksJoe,” Cruz said in a tweet where he shared a CNBC article on the situation.

Some liberals who replied to Cruz, however, were not convinced that the outage was due to the mandates or that there were anything wrong with them.
Twitter user Nathan Claiborn responded, “It’s not illegal. It’s well decided law. Vaccines have been mandated since the founding of our great nation.”

An anti-Trump Twitter user asked Cruz, “Do you EVER tell the truth?” They then quoted the article, accepting the airline’s excuses for the cancelations.

“The airline blamed initial problems on bad weather and an “FAA-imposed air traffic management program.”
“Although we were staffed for the weekend, we could not anticipate the significant disruption that was created from unexpected ATC issues”
In a tweet of her own, U.S. House Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) also weighed in on the situation and suggested, “Just wait until the pilots walk out next. And truck drivers. And more nurses, doctors, and healthcare workers. Just wait.”

And truck drivers.
And more nurses, doctors, and healthcare workers.
Just wait.
Former GOP Maryland Congressional candidate Kim Klacik announced in a tweet that she was a victim of one of the cancelations.
“Now knowing my @SouthwestAir flight was cancelled yesterday due to workers protesting the vaccine mandate, I am less annoyed,” Klacik said, while sharing a screenshot of the text she received.
