In a recent interview on NBC’s “Today” show, legendary quarterback and broadcaster Terry Bradshaw said that his Christian faith will get him through his tough battle with cancer and that he’s ok with any outcome.
Bradshaw told the interviewer Harry Smith that after being diagnosed the first time, “I wasn’t scared.” To which, Smith asked, “Really?”
“No, you know what Harry, I don’t know why, I never was scared,” Bradshaw insisted. Smith then deadpanned, “I mean, you’re Terry Bradshaw, you’re bigger than life.”
Bradshaw chuckled and told him that cancer shows no favoritism as he explained, “As a man of faith, as a Christian, my attitude was, well, ‘If I go, I’m OK. If I stay, I’m OK.'”
At the beginning of the season, NFL fans expressed concern after watching Bradshaw show major lapses while presenting the highlights section.
Bradshaw opened up as he told the audience at the time, “Last week on this show, I ran out of breath and Howie [Long] helped me up and I just want to address it and let you know what has happened in my life.”
“In November, I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. I went to the Yale University medical center [had] surgery, [had] treatment, as of today I am cancer free.”
“Then in March, feeling good, I had a bad neck, I get an MRI, now we find a tumor in my left neck and it’s a Merkel-cell tumor which is a rare form of skin cancer.”
Bradshaw also told Smith that his wife helped him get through the tough times and that he plans to travel the world now because he can’t put it off any longer.

I only know Terry Bradshaw by the fun Burt Reynolds movies he was in. He like me, counts the friends and family gone and know the time is near. God bless.
