Eric July spoke with Fox News Digital (FND) about his comic book and the Rippaverse.
Promotional videos for the comic book were banned on some subreddit forms for “supporting comics from hate groups”. July told FND:
His comic book company is no such thing. “A lot of it has to do with the fact that I am a person that they simply do not like,” he said.
July, a self-described libertarian, hosts his own podcast and has appeared on several media outlets as a political commentator. July said he is “on a mission to spread liberty, speak out against nonsense and work towards a more free and prosperous society.”
July said a lot of entertainment today is out to “beat people over the head with stuff like social justice” and left-leaning agendas.
“To see the industry go in the direction that it’s gone kind of lights a fire under you,” July said. “It’s not like it’s getting any better. These people are doubling down on everything that they’re doing no matter how often the fans reject it.”
So, he created Rippaverse.
On his Twitter feed, July shared a tweet of a panel from “I Am Batman” showing the leftist agenda in the comic book. July replies to the panel with, “You guys don’t have to put up with this anymore”.

Twitter user Clemson Phil shared screenshots from a thread on Reddit, where the participants try to pick apart July and those who are investing in his project. They call July dumb and mock him for wanting to keep “politics” out of his comics.
Look at the amount of coping going on all over Reddit. Has it always been a far left cesspit? Rippaverse is owning their faces. Down with the fascist far left mainstream! @QTRBlackGarrett @EricDJuly pic.twitter.com/NI3FHcVJOe

The commentary from the left at seeing his success spilled over onto Twitter as well.
One Twitter user @Jack68152867 called July a Judas:
“If you’re stupid enough to support a narrative that is against you, your race, truth, if you are supported by fox News and most of your clients are whites, you know that you are making money off the pain of a population. Being a “libertarian” is a poor excuse for being a Judas.”
No disrespect… but what the fuck are you talking about? https://t.co/2YUdQ5o3Os

Another Twitter user called him the White man’s token black nerd:
“You are the White man token black nerd because why is it wrong for both Jace Fox as Batman and Sam as Captain America as long as it good”.
Impressive self-awareness from you.

> Says I’m the token black
> Asks what’s wrong with getting sloppy seconds from whites. https://t.co/SIYNFy5kvI
@Warhawk1947 replied to July tweeting “Bot comments aside, to be fair Fox probably ‘did’ single you out over race. Let’s not forget who they are. Expect to be used as a weapon to further antagonize society and act accordingly.”
July responded with, “I cannot be “used” by anybody as I’m not a tool. There’s also only one line in the article about race and it only talks about me not dwelling on it.”

Many more leftists who seem upset with the success have taken to trolling July. To some this only shows that maybe July is doing something right, getting under the skin of the liberal left by just doing something he yearned for.
