Things at Twitter are changing fast. With the approved purchase of Twitter on hold but still not dead, Twitter employees seem to be in a frenzy. Bloomberg announced that three more executives are leaving the company. This news comes a week after Twitter started product reorganization.
Two of the company’s vice presidents are leaving as well as the head of data science. Ilya Brown, a VP of product management, Katrina Lane, VP of Twitter Service, and Max Schmeiser, head of data science are all making their exodus from Twitter.
Currently, there is a hiring freeze at Twitter, it was announced last week that the deal between Elon Musk and Twitter was on hold. Musk is diving in to find out how many spambots and fake accounts Twitter has on its platform. The SEC is also investigating the time frame in which Musk disclosed his purchases of Twitter stock.
Twitter claims they have less than 5% fake accounts, this is a threshold Musk is going to hold them to for the deal. Researchers are estimating that the number of fake accounts on Twitter falls between 4-20% of all accounts.
A Twitter spokeswoman told Bloomberg, “We are thankful for all of their hard work and leadership. We continue to be focused on providing the very best experience to the people on Twitter.”
The pressure is clearly on Twitter now with a burden of proof falling on their shoulders, as well as the environment at the company coming under much scrutiny. This public pressure seems to motivate many employees unhappy with the possible changes to exit the company before anything is finalized.
