Tim Allen Offers Advice for New CNN Boss Chris Licht: ‘Maybe a Re-Focus on Accuracy, not BS’

Comedian and actor Tim Allen recently offered advice for the new CNN boss, Chris Licht, after a New York Times profile was released on him.

Allen shared a quote from Licht that appeared in the story in a tweet where he said, “So much of what passes for news is name-calling, half-truths, and desperation.”

“Hmmm…well said quote from the CNN new boss. Maybe a re-focus on accuracy not bs,” Allen said in his tweet.

Prior to that, Licht had said that “The uninformed vitriol, especially from the left, has been stunning,” which proved his point about what passes for news.

According to Deadline, Licht’s indicated in the Times profile that he wants to offer a “rational conversation about polarizing issues,” so that viewers will “take what they’ve heard (on CNN) to the dinner table and have a discussion,” he said. “That’s a dream of mine.”

Licht’s attempts to shake things up have mostly been on par with the way things have been going at CNN: bad.

While CNN’s Jake Tapper broke the story about Kyrsten Sinema’s move to Independent from Democrat, his prime-time stint failed and ended following the midterm elections, after only a month.

CNN’s “This Morning” show has not fared well against its competition, much like the previous programs in that time slot, despite having switched Don Lemon from prime-time.

Licht also acknowledged that he’s faced a firestorm of criticism from liberals for attempting to make CNN less partisan.

It should seem pretty clear at this point to him that the only way to make CNN successful again would be to completely revamp the on-air talent but time will tell if it will happen or not.

  1. CNN will always carry the fake new label. They are on life support. Its just a matter of time before they shut down.
