Trump Affirms Plan to Withhold Funds from Sanctuary Cities After Major Court Win as ICE Cracks Down

Previously we reported that President Trump scored a major win on the subject of Illegal Immigration back on February 26th:

The decision by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan struck down a lower court’s ruling against Trump. The original ruling ordered the Trump administration to release funds being withheld from New York City and seven states, including New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Washington, Massachusetts, Virginia, and Rhode Island.

Originally, those lawless localities have sued the Trump administration for the right to wantonly disregard the law and refuse to work with federal immigration agents after the DOJ announced its original plan in 2017 to hold money from localities. Back then Jeff Sessions was the AG and was fully supportive of the plan.

A new report from The Washington Times echoes a statement from President Trump regarding his plan to follow through now that he is in the catbird seat. It’s one thing to be able to do something or have a victory in the courts, it’s another thing to execute those plans. According to the president, he planning on swift execution.

“As per recent Federal Court ruling, the Federal Government will be withholding funds from Sanctuary Cities. They should change their status and go non-Sanctuary. Do not protect criminals!” Mr. Trump tweeted.

The Columbia Bugle retweeted a New York Times report additionally, which says that ICE is planning to “flood the streets” to arrest as many undocumented immigrants as possible. “Excellent News” the tweet reads.
