Trump Dominates 2024 Presidential Nomination CPAC Straw Poll, DeSantis a Distant Second

Former President Donald Trump dominated the 2024 GOP presidential nomination poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) gathering this weekend in Dallas, Texas, with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis coming in a distant second.

Trump captured 70% of ballots cast in the anonymous straw poll, according to results announced by CPAC on this afternoon.

DeSantis received 21% of the vote, with no one else among the 19 potential 2024 Republican White House contenders topped 1%.

In late February, Trump won the straw poll taken at CPAC Orlando with 55% support, indicating that his support has now increased.

Trump told the crowd as he gave the Dallas event’s keynote address minutes later, “I want to personally thank each and every one of you for your incredible support,”

Lou Dobbs gloated on Twitter about the massive victory and noted, “The RINOs must be in the throes of despair, and that’s delightful! Trump easily wins CPAC 2024 GOP presidential nomination straw poll.”

Without Trump on the ballot, DeSantis grabbed 68% support, with former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at 5%. Donald Trump Jr. and U.S. Sen Ted Cruz (R-TX) were both at 4%, with South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem received 3%, while no one else topped 2%.

Verified Twitter user Kambree made one observation that most conservatives can agree on and remarked, “Mike pence got destroyed in CPAC straw poll on pick for 2024 presidential nomination.”

Liberals weren’t thrilled with the news as #ArrestTrumpNow has begun trending on Twitter.

Trump supporter “First Words” explained, “#ArrestTrumpNow is trending because they saw Trump’s speech at CPAC today. They know he’s stronger than ever, that they can’t steal it in 2024 with new election integrity legislation across the nation. They know they’re totally screwed. They know Trump always wins in the end.”
