Trump Releases Statement Asking ‘Who Killed Ashli Babbitt?’

In a move that has many supporters celebrating, as we previously reported, former President Trump released a statement today asking, “Who killed Ashli Babbitt?”

Trump supporter and rapper Patriot J, who has a sizable following on Twitter, shared the statement and declared, “He finally said her name!”

A response from Olivia Rondeau, who has a sizable following on Twitter as well, asked, “Did you see the report yesterday about how it may have been someone on Pence’s security detail?”

Patriot J answered Rondeau, “YES! I wonder if that’s why he’s finally speaking up.”

UK publication The Spectator wrote the article in regards to the theory yesterday, as Rondeau had noted.

The piece begins by wondering, “Who shot Ashli Babbitt, the pro-Trump Air Force veteran who was killed by police during the January 6 riot at the US Capitol building?”

Anonymous write Cockburn then explains that “The American people were told that it was a Capitol Police officer who fired the fatal shot” and adds that they have “stumbled across some information that points to a different explanation.”

The article continues by claiming that sources close to and within the intelligence community told the writer that Babbitt was actually shot by a member of then-vice president Mike Pence’s protective detail and he explained that VP’s detail, of course, is provided by US Secret Service, not the Capitol Police.

It was also asserted that this is “basically an open secret” in the intelligence community and that law enforcement sources suggested that the Capitol Police Department and Department of Justice have publicly identified the shooter as a Capitol Police officer in order to protect the reputation of the Secret Service.

The writer then also wonders if this isn’t an attempt to protect Pence from further anger or threats from supporters of Trump who wanted him to refuse to certify the results of the election on January 6.

It is unclear if we will ever know the truth or not and perhaps Trump could have asked this question the day after the incident and called for an investigation as president but things were in a state of chaos and the window for that has closed.

Recently, U.S. House Rep Paul Gosar (R-AZ) provided “a detailed analysis of the killing of Ashli Babbitt,” while pushing back on statements made by U.S. House Rep Liz Cheney (R-WY).
