Trump Says House Stimulus Bill Can’t Move Forward as a ‘Voting Package’ To Put In ‘Mail-in Ballots’

At a round table discussion today, President Trump said that he doesn’t believe that the stimulus will move forward with the package that he “saw today.” He called it a “voting package” designed to put in “mail-in ballots.”

Reporter: But you agree that the stimulus should move forward, there’s been some Republicans who suggest that it’s dead on arrival?

Trump: I don’t know, it depends. Certainly not the package that I saw today basically if you look at that package what they want more than anything else, it’s a voting package. They want to be able to make sure that Republicans can’t win an election by putting in mail-in ballots.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe this morning and talked about the bill, saying that she put down what “she thinks this country needs.”

She acknowledged that “It’s a big ticket, it’s a lot of money, the American people are worth it.” She didn’t mention the voting provisions that Trump referenced.
