Trump Supporter Herschel Walker Makes it Official, He’s Running for U.S. Senate in Georgia

Trump supporter and patriot Republican Herschel Walker has made it official. He is running against Democrat Reverend and U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock in Georgia.

Walker has yet to make an announcement, but he filed with the FEC and registered to vote in Georgia, according to the AJC. There has been much speculation as to whether or he was going to run. Walker wanted it to be on his terms. He has gone on Sean Hannity to talk about his potential run before.

Walker has a good shot at winning as he may be able to sway more Black voters in Georgia. We don’t think that’s why he’s running, but it just might help. Time will tell who else will run. We do know Donald Trump is likely to endorse. Insider Paper tweeted:

“JUST IN – Herschel Walker, an American retired football player, is running for U.S. Senate in Georgia”

Previously we reported here that former President Trump said Walker told him he would run. Today it looks to be official. We will add or update this story if anything changes. AJC slightly tried to downplay Walker’s run. But we think he was a good shot. They reported in part:

Walker didn’t immediately comment, though he filed paperwork Tuesday with the Federal Election Commission establishing his candidacy and recently registered to vote in Georgia. A formal announcement is expected within days.

He entered the race at the urging of former President Donald Trump, who said the one-time running back would be as “unstoppable” as a candidate as he was on the field. He also boasts sky-high name recognition in Georgia and an outsider persona, traits he hopes will help him breeze to the GOP nomination.

But many senior Republicans worry that Walker will inevitably stumble against Warnock, who has become a fundraising powerhouse and national figure since defeating GOP incumbent Kelly Loeffler in January to become the first Black U.S. senator in Georgia history.
