Trump Thanks Supporters Outside of Walter Reed in First Tweet of the Day

Since President Trump first was admitted to Walter Reed Medical Center on Friday night, the crowd out front has been growing, so much so that the police have now set up fencing to contain the supporters. Caravans have also been riding by to show their support for the president.

In Trump’s first tweet today, he said, “I really appreciate all of the fans and supporters outside of the hospital. The fact is, they really love our Country and are seeing how we are MAKING IT GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!”

Fox 45 Baltimore reported that the Maryland Republican Party was one group encouraging people rally at Walter Reed National Medical Center.

They said that in an email, Saturday morning, Maryland party leaders put out a call for the President’s supporters to show up and support the President while he undergoes treatment, rests and recovers.

The email called for people who wanted to stand with the President to come and make a statement and it asked for supporters to bring friends and family they added.

One reporter apparently caught up with one of the authors of the email, Trump Campaign advisor David Bossie, in the middle of the rally.

Bossie said the email wasn’t a factor in the large gathering he estimated to include nearly 500 people at the time of the interview Saturday evening in what has been a festive atmosphere.

Bossie also noted that people came from New York, Massachusetts and even Louisiana to participate in the festivities and that the email was designed to make sure Maryland Republicans got a chance to participate since he says they are sometimes shut out.

Trump also tweeted out a UK media article that says an election poll shows the president is leading Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden despite being hospitalized.
