Trump Thinks Amash Would Be a ‘Wonderful’ Presidential Candidate Since He Has ‘No Chance Of Maintaining Seat’

Yesterday, Michigan now-Independant House Rep Justin Amash announced that he was launching “an exploratory committee to seek the Libertarian Party nomination for president of the United States.” He believes that “Americans are ready for practical approaches based in humility and trust of the people.”

Let’s do this. https://amashforamerica.com. Today, I launched an exploratory committee to seek the @LPNational’s nomination for president of the United States. Americans are ready for practical approaches based in humility and trust of the people.

We’re ready for a presidency that will restore respect for our Constitution and bring people together. I’m excited and honored to be taking these first steps toward serving Americans of every background as president.

President Trump shared an article written by the Washington Post about his candidacy and said that he felt that “Amash would make a wonderful candidate especially since he is way behind in his district and has no chance of maintaining his Congressional seat.”

No, I think Amash would make a wonderful candidate, especially since he is way behind in his district and has no chance of maintaining his Congressional seat. He almost always votes for the Do Nothing Dems anyway. I like him even more than Jill Stein!

Amash appeared on MSNBC this morning and took shots at President Trump by saying, “We need people who have leadership skills, who can stand up against those in power, who can stand up against those who want to continue the bad process that we have in Congress and I have those skills and I’ll bring those to the table.”

In Amash’s Congressional race, there are five Republicans and two Democrats still in the race, along with Amash, for now. The district has traditionally leaned to the right.
