Former U.S. House Rep Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) has recently been taking positions that certainly are putting her at odds with many in her party.
Today, Gabbard released a video about the Kyle Rittenhouse trial that is sure to once again clash with what most Democrats believe to be the case currently.
Gabbard chastised the prosecutor in the trial, Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger, and blamed the government for dropping the ball in the first place.
In a tweet that included the video, Gabbard said, “The prosecutor in the Rittenhouse trial clearly didn’t do due diligence before making the decision to prosecute.”
“This tragedy never would have happened if the government carried out its responsibilities to protect the safety, lives, and property of innocent people,” Gabbard added.

Rittenhouse’s defense attorneys asked Judge Bruce Schroeder today to grant a mistrial with prejudice in the case meaning if the motion is granted, prosecutors could not refile the charges.
Defense attorney Corey Chirafisi made the motion on the basis of “prosecutorial overreach,” after Binger cross-examined Rittenhouse, who took the stand and said he acted in self-defense that night.
Schroeder declined to make a ruling on the motion immediately and allowed testimony to continue through the afternoon.
Julius Kim, a Milwaukee criminal defense attorney who has been closely observing the Rittenhouse trial, called two lines of questioning that prompted the motion big “no-no’s.”
“You don’t comment about a defendant’s right to remain silent, especially not in front of a jury,” Kim explained and bringing up the shoplifting video was a “particularly big faux pas because that goes to the defendant’s character.”
Some may wonder why the District Attorney for Kenosha, Mike Gravely isn’t handling the case.
According to the New York Times, Graveley said that he had been busy with an investigation into the “police shooting of Jacob Blake” at the time Rittenhouse was charged and added that he was handling another murder trial that was expected to start during the Rittenhouse trial.
