Twitter Deal Pushes Forward, Elon Musk to Meet with Employees this Week

According to an email from Twitter CEO Parag Agarwal, that was sent to staff, Elon Musk is set to talk to Twitter employees this week in a town hall.

Twitter user Vikas Muley shared, “Elon Musk to address Twitter employees for first time in Town Hall”.

This news comes while there has been much speculation that Musk was trying to find a way out of the deal. This news seems to contradict the narrative that we have seen of late.

Many employees at Twitter seem to be uncomfortable with the prospect of Musk owning the company and taking it private. Before the announcement was made that Musk intended to buy Twitter, he had voiced many concerns about how the platform has been run.

Since his intent was made clear, and his offer accepted by the Twitter board his criticisms haven’t stopped.

Most recently, Musk pushed Twitter to give him data on daily active users in order to validate the company’s claim that only 5% of users are bots. While the company tried to delay handing over the information it eventually gave in after Musk involved his lawyers.

Some have speculated that Musk may be trying to get out of the deal, with his hard push for the information or trying to negotiate a better price for the deal, however, that remains to be seen.

There were also reports that many employees had intended to leave Twitter if Musk were to successfully take over. This town hall should be interesting to see where Musk and Twitter employees match up or if they can at all for that matter.

The town hall is set for Thursday this week, Musk will take questions from Twitter employees. This is the first time that Musk has addressed Twitter employees since he agreed to purchase the company.

It will be interesting to see what comes from the town hall.
