Yesterday, we reported on California House Rep. Adam Schiff calling the confirmation process of Judge Amy Coney Barrett “illegitimate” and on Monday, he was critical of President Trump and his “enablers.”
Today an article was released by the Jewish Telegrahic Agency where he blamed House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and House Minority Whip Steve Scalise for a recent meme that was retweeted, and later deleted, by Schiff’s Republican opponent in the upcoming election, Eric Early.
The meme accused Schiff of being related to billionaire George Soros, who has been a controversial figure in politics, with Democrats attempting to paint any mention of him as “anti-semetic.”
Schiff claimed, “My Republican colleagues are the ones amplifying these anti-Semitic attacks on George Soros or myself. They’re pushed out by the Republican leadership. People like Kevin McCarthy and Steve Scalise have amplified these anti-Semitic attacks in their own social media.”
While McCarthy did not respond to the publication, Scalise’s spokesman said, “Scalise is a victim of political violence himself; it is absurd and offensive to accuse him of engaging in that behavior.”
“George Soros is a known leftist; that has nothing to do with him also being Jewish. Scalise has long been outspoken against anti-Semitism in any form, and is a longtime ally of the Jewish community. To suggest anything to the contrary is ridiculous,” he added.
Schiff posted a screenshot of the deleted retweet by Early last Saturday and said, “This week, my opponent shared a “meme” about me. A well-circulated anti-Semitic lie. I don’t have a sister. I’m not related to George Soros. Trump may lose in 17 days. But the Republican Party’s willingness to traffic in bigotry and hate has caused lasting damage.”

Both McCarthy and Scalise tweeted congratulations to President Trump today about the news of a brokered peace deal between Sudan and Israel.
“Another peace deal—great news that Sudan plans to normalize ties with Israel. In just one term, President Trump has done more to achieve peace in the Middle East than Joe Biden‘s 47 years of failed foreign policy. Biden has been all talk and no action,” McCarthy said.

Scalise said, “ANOTHER major Peace Deal brokered by President Trump. This one between Israel and Sudan. In just one term, President Trump has succeeded in the Middle East where Obama-Biden and other administrations have failed for decades.”
