Republican candidate to become the next Governor of Georgia Vernon Jones was critical of the current GOP Gov. Brian Kemp in a tweet today.
Jones vowed, “When I’m Governor, unlike @BrianKempGA, I will FULLY defund Planned Parenthood and use those same funds to #RefundThePolice.”
“Georgians deserve to live in safety, not fear,” Jones added.

Georgians deserve to live in safety, not fear.
Kemp caught heat from pro-life advocates when he replaced former U.S. Sen Johnny Isakson with Kelly Loeffler, who was criticized for previous ties with Planned Parenthood.
Leaders from a slew of pro-life organizations all pointed to Loeffler’s position on the board of Grady Health, a network of facilities that purportedly engaged in activities which raised pro-life activists’ concerns, as well as her part ownership of the Atlanta Dream, a WNBA team that has promoted Planned Parenthood.
Penny Young Nance, the head of the pro-life Concerned Women for America, said that she believed at the time that there were “better choices for Gov.Kemp 4 the next U.S. Senator from GA. He has a list of fantastic pro-life candidates. We hope he doesn’t pick the one the pro-life community will oppose,”
Susan B. Anthony List president Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a tweet at the time that, “Kelly Loeffler should be disqualified as a GA Senate appointment. She’s on the board of Grady Memorial Hospital, largest abortion provider in the state. Grady is an abortionist training hub. Its doctors are leading advocates AGAINST @BrianKempGA pro-life laws.”
Loeffler was ultimately defeated in a run-off election in January by U.S. Sen Raphael Warnock.
