Vernon Jones Wonders ‘Why Hasn’t Someone in Congress Filed a Civil Suit Against BLM or Antifa’ For Last Summer’s Riots

Last week, we reported that U.S. House Rep Bennie Thompson (D-MS) has joined with the NAACP to file a lawsuit against former President Trump and Rudy Giuliani for the Jan. 6 siege on the U.S. Capitol, claiming that they colluded with white supremacist groups.

Former Georgia State House Rep Vernon Jones tweeted out an article about that news and asked, “Why hasn’t someone in congress filed a civil suit against @blm or ANTIFA for their riots, burnings and killings?

A liberal Twitter user responded to Jones and said, “You try.” Of course, Jones isn’t in Congress right now, so that wouldn’t make sense based on his question.

Nevertheless, Jones tweeted pictures of those killed last summer and replied, “You should be the (first) to try. They burned Black businesses and even killed Black children. And we know you’re Black, you voted for @JoeBiden.”

The user wasn’t convinced, however, and responded back to Jones, “Still waiting on those articles instead of random pictures of black folks.”

As we previously reported:

Thompson, who is a strong supporter of Black Lives Matter, despite many supporters of the organization claiming they aren’t political, has been an outspoken critic of Trump.

According to The Grio, A member of the Proud Boys has been calling Thompson, wanting a conversation with him since he filed a lawsuit against the group.

Thompson said the call came into one of his local offices in Mississippi and that the Proud Boy member “wanted to talk to me before the lawyers started talking.”

“Obviously, I am not going to talk to him because the suit is filed,” Thompson stated.

Only time will tell if Vernon’s questions will spur action. Many times the Republicans seem to stand by and take no action out of fear of being labeled a ‘racist’, as the left however seeming uses every opportunity they see to further their agenda.
