In a viral video, a 300-350 lbs black man is seen sucker-punching a 25-year-old Hispanic lady to the ground before continuing to punch her at a gas station in Los Angeles on Sunday. The video shows the large, obese, shirtless man, drive up to the gas pump, get out of his car, casually walk up to the Hispanic lady and begin assaulting her, without any provocation. The man repeatedly punched the lady in the face and in her gut. After she fell to the ground, he continued brutally assaulting her, even pulling her head up by her hair and slamming her head into the car and ground over and over. The victim, a single mother, was hospitalized with serious injuries.
NEW: We’ve obtained surveillance video of the brutal assault. It shows the large man getting out of his car, walking up to the woman as she pumps gas, then, without provocation, he sucker punches her in the face and continues to beat her on the ground. She was hospitalized. pic.twitter.com/1b3fOq33QG

The victim told authorities that she did not know the perpetrator and says that he did not rob her of any personal property. No motive or cause seems to be present, with many concluding the assault to be a hate crime.
The suspect in question was taken into custody after a family member turned him in. The family member was concerned that the suspect would continue harming innocent citizens.
Authorities seem to believe the suspect committed another similar attack the night before. Once the gas pump incident video was released, another woman came forward alleging that she had been assaulted by the same man the night before. On Saturday, in an intersection near the gas station incident, this 63-year-old woman was sitting in her vehicle at a traffic light before being punched by what seems to be the suspect.
The brutal perpetrator has been arrested and is jailed locally, charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
As footage of the Hispanic woman being attacked began going viral, many social media users described this as a fairly common occurrence. One Twitter user said, “BTW, this kind of stuff is happening all over LA County, it’s not an isolated incident. The victim is typically too scared to do anything about it, and even if they do, the police won’t follow up. It’s very sad.”

Another user mocked the popular sentiment that white supremacy is prevalent and harmful in our society, saying, “White supremacy is the biggest threat” followed by a laughing emoji.
White supremacy is the biggest threat…. 🤣

These seemingly random incidents of assault with no provocation have been occurring often over the past few months.
A black man randomly sucker punched a 12-year-old child in July. In April, a disgusting video went viral of a black man berating a white hotel employee with a mental disability. In a random, unprovoked shooting that took place in April, a black man killed a white mother while she was on vacation celebrating her anniversary.
