Last week, we speculated that President Biden’s White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was aware that her use of the phrase “circle back” had been mocked on Twitter by conservatives and at a press briefing today, she made it clear that she was.
After using the phrase at several press briefings, she did not use it at the last two, we can now confirm with the official transcripts released by the White House.
Today, she called an audible however, prior to taking questions, she said, “I often note, ‘I’m going to circle back.’ I hate to disappoint conservative Twitter, but I am going to circle back on a number of things, as we often do directly.”
Psaki then proceeded to “circle back” on Hurricane Maria funds, which she said was a question that was asked back week. She gave a vague response and said that it is “a priority for the administration to release this funding and we are working to do so.”
The next topic Psaki decided to “circle back” on was whether or not the White House security fence should come down and she still did not provide a direct answer to that question as she merely said that they were working with the Secret Service to figure out when that would be feasible.
The last question that Psaki “quickly” wanted to “circle back” on was the one that was asked where she spent 30 seconds shuffling her papers before finally not actually answering it regarding whether troops are going to be at the vaccination centers.
Psaki said that they are working closely with FEMA and expect to have more information in the coming days, again, answering the question with a vague response.

Following Psaki’s use of the phrase “conservative Twitter,” it is now a trending topic on the platform.
“Republican communicator” Matt Whitlock tweeted, “Good reminder that the Biden administration pays a LOT of attention to what Twitter thinks. Even conservative Twitter.”

Conservative activist Dinesh D’Souza noted, “Psaki admits conservative twitter is in her head by holding her accountable for always ‘circling back’.”
