Fox News’ Peter Doocy was not finished with White House deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre when it comes to the potential payments that might be made to illegal immigrants who were allegedly separated under Trump.
At today’s press briefing, Doocy came with a new angle, which baffled Jean-Pierre, asking her if there is “discussion about giving people who are coming here the right way money?”
“Why would we be giving people who are coming here the white ray (right way) money?” Jean-Pierre responded, stumbling over her words.
Doocy then rephrases and wondered, “Why are you giving people who came here the wrong way money?”
Jean-Pierre continued to be perplexed and replied, “I mean – but I don’t understand the question, what is.. you are saying that we should just give people money who are coming through. I don’t understand the question”
“You are giving people who immigrated here illegally money.” Doocy explained, to which Jean-Pierre deflected again to the DOJ.
Appearing frustrated, Jean-Pierre told Doocy, “Like I said, like I said, that’s Department of Justice, you’re going to have to ask them that question.”

Yesterday, we reported:
President Joe Biden called a recent report that $450,000 payments could be made to illegal immigrant families who were supposedly separated under the Trump administration “garbage” when asked about it yesterday by Fox News’ Peter Doocy.
The ACLU then disputed Biden’s assertion in a tweet yesterday where they claimed that he “may not have been fully briefed about the actions of his own DOJ as it carefully considered the crimes committed against thousands of families.”
The group warned, “But if he follows through on what he said, the president is abandoning a campaign promise to do justice for separated families.”
In an intimidating follow-up to the tweet, the group added, “We respectfully remind President Biden that he called these actions ‘criminal’ in a debate with then-President Trump, and campaigned on remedying and rectifying the lawlessness of the Trump administration.”
“We call on President Biden to right the wrongs of this national tragedy,” they added.
At today’s White House press briefing, Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who is filling in for the COVID-19 positive Jen Psaki, backtracked when asked by Doocy for clarification and about the ACLU’s statement.
Jean-Pierre deflected to the DOJ and said that Biden was reacting “to the dollar figure” which she claimed was “higher” than what a potential settlement might be.
“If he’s not okay with $450,000, how much money is he okay with giving?” Doocy wondered.
Jean-Pierre then gave Doocy a lecture on how “we got here” to the situation, due to the Trump administration’s “cruel, inhumane, immoral policies against people,” she insisted.
