As we reported earlier today, President Trump pardoned three other people in a new round of pardons, including Paul Manafort who was the president’s former chair on his campaign in 2016. Below is the tweet from Manafort praising the president following his pardon.
“History will record that your Presidency accomplished more in 4 years than any of your modern-day predecessors.”

The president has been told by Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) that he should pardon him and his family before he leaves office as he fears that the Biden administration would go after him. With more pardons expected, there could be a self-pardon and a pardon of his family.
Paul Manafort seems to be happy with the president pardoning him as he expressed great gratitude on Twitter. Although he may not actually believe this, he said the president accomplished more in four years than any other modern-day president.
Although President Trump has made many pardons recently, it is not close to the amount President Obama made as he pardoned 212 compared to the president only pardoning less than 70 people.
We will have to see if any more pardons are made by the president as his term comes to an end.
