5 Dead and 8 Injured After Shooting at a Bank in Downtown Louisville

A shooting at Old National Bank in downtown Louisville left five dead including the shooter and eight injured and being treated at a local hospital, according to the most recent update.

Police were quickly dispatched to the scene. The shooter was still firing when police arrived and they began to exchange fire with the suspect. Two officers were shot and the gunman was dead after the exchange. It isn’t clear at this time if police shot and killed the gunman or if he died from a self-inflicted wound.

Police gave an update at a press conference along with Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear. They announced there would be another press conference at 3 PM Est.

Simon Ateba shared the news on Twitter:

“BREAKING: Authorities provide update: The gunman dead, four more people dead, six other people injured, at least two cops shot, after a mass shooting at a bank in downtown Louisville, Kentucky, on Monday morning. In all, five people dead, including the gunman, 8 people being treated, including the two cops. Biden informed.”

Mayor Greenberg asked the world to pray for Louisville. He called on the community to come together to prevent future incidents like this. He also offered his thanks to those involved in neutralizing and investigating the incident.

Governor Beshear then came to the podium to thank those who responded to the call as well as those who had come out to help respond to the call.

“BREAKING: Not all the details are in. It appears it was a bank robbery gone wrong. Authorities provide update: The gunman dead, four more people dead, six other people injured, at least two cops shot, after a mass shooting at a bank in downtown Louisville, Kentucky, on Monday morning. In all, five people dead, including the gunman, 8 people being treated, including the two cops. Biden informed. Name of the shooter not yet released. Seems the shooter had connection with the bank. Police said to have arrived to the scene just three or so minutes after.”

Beshear shared, “This is awful. I had a very close friend that didn’t make it today, and I have another close friend that didn’t either, who is at the hospital that I hope is going to make it through. So when we talk about praying I hope people will. For those that we are hoping can make it through the surgeries they are going through. Then we have gotta do what we have done these last three years through everything, we have got to wrap our arms around these families and everybody who needs it. Don’t be afraid to get some help.”

ABC shared Beshear’s remarks from the press briefing:

“I had a very close friend that didn’t make it today.” Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear makes emotional statement on the deadly mass shooting in Louisville that killed at least four and injured eight others.”

  1. Sounds like he may have been dropped by the bank and decided it was payback time. Sick

Clubs and knives kill way more people than guns, hands and feet kill more people than guns, knives and clubs put together.
Gun killings are sensationalized by the leftist media. If they truly covered murders by the means other than guns it would shock America.
Children are beaten to death, stabbed, starved, drowned, strangled etc by parents and others. These type of atrocities happen far, far more to children. But it doesn’t fit the leftist anti gun narrative so the public is not aware of it.
They want to disarm Americans so it will be easier for their globalist masters.
Someone needs to develop a website, listing all these non-gun horrors that happen daily in America.
