Allen and Karn both gave statements to Collider about their excitement over the new series:

Albert Einstein once said, ‘I’m not a genius, I’m just passionately curious. Having the opportunity to explore my curiosity in depth and really get to know more about the people and things that make us what we are today gets me excited. And what better pal to have at my side than Richard Karn? We both share a great appreciation of people who can solve a problem not by talking about it, but by ‘doing’ it with creativity and amazing skills.” -Tim Allen

My friendship with Tim has lasted over 30 years… in a row! The chance to do a show like Tool Time was unquestionably exciting. We may not have Binford but we still will have a world of fun!” -Richard Karn

Allen and Richard got their start together on “Home Improvement”, where the pair hosted “Tool Time” a show set in Home Improvement that showcased tools and Tim’s love of power. The series ran for eight seasons and many people loved it.

Allen is also well known for “Last Man Standing”, and “The Santa Clause” movies, as well as the character Buzz Lightyear which he voiced for the Toy Story series. Disney replaced Allen with Chris Evans in the new movie about Lighyear’s origination story. This move by Disney caused much controversy as Allen is known as the voice of Buzz.

Earlier we reported on Patricia Heaton’s reaction to the change of casing for the voice of Buzz Lightyear.

Allen is still working with Disney as he recently filmed a limited series for Disney+ “The Santa Clause”. He shared on Twitter an image talking about wrapping up filming for the series.
