Alec Baldwin Could Soon Face Charges in ‘Rust’ Shooting, DA announces 4 individuals will be Prosecuted

Actor Alec Baldwin could soon be facing charges from the fatal “Rust” shooting that occurred late last year.

Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies announced that four individuals will be prosecuted for the incident that took place.

In doing so, Carmack-Altwies requested and was granted approval for funds to investigate and prosecute those responsible for the shooting.

While Carmack-Altwies asked for $635,000 to prosecute the case, it appears that she was granted $317,000 to appoint a special prosecutor to take the case forward.

Baldwin listed his Hamptons home for sale after the August 30 request was made, according to the Daily Mail.

Carmack-Altwies is a Democrat, but it appears that will not make a difference in her decision to prosecute, or not.

One of the final pieces of evidence that prosecutors had been waiting for was Baldwin’s cellphone, which also lends credence to his potential prosecution.

As we previously reported, Baldwin has claimed that he did not pull the trigger, asserting that the gun discharged on its own, which the FBI has refuted.

Conservative commentator Tim Young recently wondered in a tweet, “If Alec Baldwin gets charged with murder… will his attorneys question the gun as a witness…since it did it all on its own?”
