Liz Cheney Threatens to Take the Ball and Run Home, Will Quit the GOP if Trump is 2024 Nominee

U.S. Congresswoman Liz Cheney (R-WY) announced what many may have already suspected if former President Donald Trump becomes the Republican presidential nominee for 2024, she will be done with the GOP.

After Cheney lost her primary in Wyoming she targeted trump in her concession speech. She stated she would do all she could to stop Trump from becoming president again.

Cheney then moved quickly to set up a new political action committee that is solely focused on stopping Trump.

During a recent appearance at The Texas Tribune Festival, Cheney was asked, “Will you remain a Republican, regardless of what happens in the next election?”

“I’m going to make sure Donald Trump, do everything I can to make sure that Donald Trump isn’t the nominee and if he is the nominee, I won’t be a Republican,” Cheney responded.

Additionally, Cheney took aim at Arizona GOP gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake, as she insisted, “I’m going to do everything I can to make sure Kari Lake is not elected.”

Cheney was then asked, “So, does that include campaigning for Democrats if that’s what it takes?”

“Yes,” Cheney responded.

Lake responded to Cheney’s comments when asked by Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, “The new Republican Party is the party of ‘We the People.'”
