AOC Complains Over $8 Dollar Blue Check Twitter Fee, Elon Musk Thanks Her for Her ‘Feedback’ and Tells Her to Pay UP

On Wednesday, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez joined other liberals in complaining about having to pay for her blue checkmark status on Twitter.

“Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that “free speech” is actually a $8/mo subscription plan”.

Musk who has deemed himself a “Twitter Complaint Hotline Operator” listed his location as Hell since taking over the social media platform. Responded to AOC’s complaint with a hilarious dismissal.

“Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8”

Musk also shared a screenshot from her online store of a Periwinkle Supporter Crew Sweatshirt that is priced at 58 dollars, Musk captioned the screenshot with an emoji. Musk’s point is clear, he is running a company, AOC knows how to raise capital and that is what Musk is working to do.

He originally announced the blue check accounts would be 20 dollars a month. After “negotiating” with author Stephen King, Musk landed at 8 dollars a month.

Musk seems to be having fun with those who are complaining about the changes coming for blue check accounts. Musk sent out a tweet inspired by Monty Python:

“To all complainers, please continue complaining, but it will cost $8”

He also shared a meme mocking those complaining about the monthly charge and compared it to their feelings about an 8 dollar frappuccino from Starbucks.

It appears Erik Voorhees hit the nail on the head with a tweet Musk ended up sharing:

“Let’s remember that @elonmusk charging $8 for a premium Twitter experience means Twitter becomes the product again, instead of you. And if $8 is too much, you’re free to remain as the product.”

Musk also shared a Tweet from David Sacks, in which Sacks shares his thoughts on why the “entitled elite” are so upset over 8 dollars monthly premium accounts.

“The entitled elite is not mad that they have to pay $8/month. They’re mad that anyone can pay $8/month.”

Musk is making Twitter his own and stirring up controversy moving the platform toward a town hall where people can debate and have a free exchange of ideas without fear of being “canceled” for offering opinions and or facts that may offend some.
