AOC Hits Ivanka’s Goya Can Pic Tweet in Spanish Written Slam

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter today to slam the Trump name. The US House incumbent for NY 14th district, who is up for reelection this year, retweeted Ivanka Trump’s pro-Goya tweet with the caption ‘Si es Trump, tiene que ser currupto’ which translates to If it’s Trump, it has to be corrupt’ which can be seen in the screenshot below:

On July ninth the president of Goya Foods, Bob Unanue, was at the White House to announce the company would donate one million cans of chickpeas and another one million pounds of other foods to food banks in the United States as part of the Hispanic Prosperity Initiative that President Trump created to improve access to education and economic opportunities. During his announcement, Unanue stated, “We’re all truly blessed at the same time to have a leader like President Trump.”

This praise of President Trump spurred some on the left to call for a boycott of Goya foods. AOC was one of those she took to Twitter with a clip of the Goya president’s praise responding ‘Oh look, it’s the sound of me Googling “how to make your own Adobo”.

Media right previously reported Goya would not back down because of the liberal backlash and would not apologize for praising President Trump. Unanue had responded to the backlash with, “So, you’re allowed to talk good or to praise one president, but you’re not allowed to aid in economic and educational prosperity? And you make a positive comment and all of a sudden, it is not acceptable,”

Today President Trump also took to Twitter to declare ‘@GoyaFoods is doing Great. The Radical Left smear machine backfired, people are buying like crazy!’ Many people have come out in support of Goya some are calling it a buycott to counter the left’s call to boycott the company.

The President also posted to Instagram today a picture of himself in the oval office with a desk full of Goya products and two thumbs up which can be seen below.

The left is now claiming that Ivanka’s pro-Goya tweet may have been an ethical violation. In a CNN article quotes the United States Office of Government Ethics: “Executive branch employees may not use their Government positions to suggest that the agency or any part of the executive branch endorses an organization (including a nonprofit organization), product, service, or person.”

We will see what is next in the left’s attempts to dissuade or shame anyone for coming out to praise President Trump.
