Halloween used to be a day where people could pretty much do whatever they wanted to in the spirit of getting dressed up and coming together to mock the forces of evil that permeate in the world.
Lately, however, it has often become more political with people getting socially ostracized in recent years for wearing what some deem to be offensive costumes.
We recently reported on Kathy Griffin retweeting a picture that appeared to be Halloween themed with a dummy of President Trump splattered on the front of a truck. That tweet has since been deleted.
Attorney Ben Crump, who has been involved in high profile Black Lives Matter cases this year, shared a picture yesterday of a “BLM Cemetary” that a Louisville, Kentucky woman erected in front of her house and claimed to be established in “1776.”
Crump said, “Today we’re reminded of the scariest reality of all: Racial injustice. We will keep the conversation going no matter what day it is because #BlackLivesMatter EVERY DAY!!”

Homeowner Maggie McCrery told WAVE 3 that “I think it is very important that white allies join forces with African-American people and help to fight this fight for equality.”
“We don’t have room for one more life to be taken, this has to be the end,” McCrery added and she said her multi-racial family was the inspiration behind the display.
The display apparently received both positive and negative reactions in the neighborhood and on Twitter as well.
One verified twitter user who has been featured in The Root‘s 100 most influential African-Americans called the display “Absolutely disgusting!!!” She wondered about Crump, “Can you make a living without exploiting the murder of Black people??”

One user, Diana, remarked “Very powerful. The BLM cemetery should be right in front of the White House as a daily visual reminder of this country’s systemic racism.”
