“Because Republicans flipped a Biden+20 state Senate seat in Connecticut last night, they met the threshold to get a say in redistricting, which could lead to another red congressional district.”

“BREAKING It appears that @ryanfazio is going to win a State Senate seat in Connecticut. A seat in New Canaan and Greenwich which is an area Joe Biden won by 20 points in 2020. Democrats have been denied a super-majority.”

This major shift in just nine months shows that the energy factor is on the Republican Party’s side with this huge upset win. Due to this win, the Connecticut Democrats won’t have a super-majority in the Senate as the Senate will be only 23-13 to the Democrat’s advantage.
The Connecticut GOP will also have a say in the redistricting which could help make some districts in the area more competitive for the party. Republicans hope to carry this momentum into other special elections and 2022.
