Ben Sasse Goes to Bat Again For the Left, Complains About the ‘Jackassery… of People Mugging For Short-Term Camera Opportunities’

U.S. Sen Ben Sasse (R-NE) went to bat again for the left today as he complained about senators who he felt were showing off for the camera, which in this case, would mean his fellow Republicans.

Talk of Sasse admonishing his colleagues during Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation hearing has gone viral with liberals on Twitter, who, of course, applauded the move.

Left-wing journalist Aaron Rupar shared a clip in a tweet and said, “Ben Sasse moments after Ted Cruz throws a performative tantrum that was tailormade for Hannity: ‘I think we should recognize that the jackassery we often see around here is partly because of people mugging for short-term camera opportunities.'”

Conservative writer Julie Kelly quote tweeted Rupar and pointed out, “Sasse mugging for the camera to produce sound clips by complaining how others mug for the camera to produce sounds clips is height Ben Sasse jackassery.”

Biden delegate Victor Shi also quote tweeted Rupar and said, “As much as I may disagree with Ben Sasse when it comes to policy, I would surely prefer to have a whole lot more Republicans like him in the Senate than people like Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham.”

While senators like Cruz and Graham can be frustrating to many conservatives at times, they have pressed Jackson during the hearing.

This doesn’t sit well with the liberals who would prefer that the hearing be a smooth one and can’t stand any criticism of someone anointed by Joe Biden.

Lincoln Project “RINO” Michael Steele also applauded Sasse in a quote tweet of an Axios clip as he said, “Amen, @SenSasse

At another point during his time, according to @judiciarydems, Sasse also told Jackson, “I’m not a lawyer, but I think you took a lot of us to law school yesterday.”

With words like that, it should be not surprising if Sasse ends up voting to confirm Jackson, but it could all be just for show.
