A reporter asked President Biden’s press secretary Jen Psaki a question on abortion this afternoon and received a shocking answer. “Does the president believe that a 15-week-old, unborn baby is a human being?”, asked a reporter. Psaki dodged the question, providing a weak answer, saying, “Are you asking me if the president supports the right to choose? He does.”

President Biden has received backlash from the Catholic community in recent weeks. Biden self-identifies as a Catholic but holds a policy that is directly contradictory with much of Catholic Church teaching.
Last Thursday, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) voted to draft “a formal statement on the meaning of the Eucharist in the life of the Church”. This document seeks to allow individual bishops to prevent “Catholic” politicians who hold views directly against Church doctrine from receiving the sacrament of the Eucharist, considered a sacred rite in Catholicism. President Biden was set to meet with the leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis on June 15th and many Catholic activists became worried that Biden would attempt to receive the Eucharist in Mass with the Pope. However, they have not met yet. The USCCB’s draft will be developed over the summer months and could be approved in November by the Vatican, effectively preventing politicians like Biden from fully participating in Catholic Mass.
In 2007, the USCCB drafted a document on Eucharistic coherence, which encouraged administers of the Eucharist during Mass to hold conscientious objection. The document says, “We must adhere to ‘eucharistic coherence,’ that is, be conscious that they cannot receive holy communion and at the same time act with deeds or words against the commandments, particularly when abortion, euthanasia, and other grave crimes against life and family are encouraged. This responsibility weighs particularly over legislators, heads of governments, and health professionals.” Many Catholics support this push and hope that only practicing Catholics, aligned with Church teaching ought to partake in receiving the Eucharist.
Jen Psaki and the Biden administration are not the first group to dodge the 15-week-old abortion question. Last Thursday, a reporter asked Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi whether a 15-week unborn baby constitutes a human life. Pelosi offered a weak response, not even answering the question. “Let me just say that I am a big supporter of Roe v. Wade,” Pelosi responded. “I am a mother of five children in six years. I think I have some standing on this issue as to respecting a woman’s right to choose.” Pelosi, like Biden, also self-identifies as a Catholic and has been a vocal supporter of abortion and an advocate for the pro-choice movement, directly contradicting Catholic teaching.
Pro-Life groups like the March For Life came after Pelosi on Twitter. The March For Life said, “At 15 weeks: A preborn child has a beating heart. A preborn child has brainwaves. A preborn child has fully formed fingers and toes. A preborn child is fully human and deserving of protection under the law.”

Pro-Life activists have been infuriated over Biden and Psaki’s pro-choice views, attacking them on social media. Even the House GOP official Twitter chimed in, saying that a “15-week-old IS a human being”.
DISGUSTING!

For the record, @PressSec, a 15-week-old unborn baby IS a human being. pic.twitter.com/SWFadyXarj
U.S. Senator Josh Hawley’s (R-MI) Press Secretary, Abigail Marone, said that Psaki was avoiding the question for the reporter. Marone said “follow the science. The answer is yes”.
No, she was asking if a 15-week old unborn baby is a human being. It’s not a difficult question.

GOP operative Arthur Schwartz labeled Psaki as a “monster” for not admitting a 15-year-old unborn child is a human being.

These questions are being asked due to a Mississippi bill waiting to be heard by the SCOTUS which could ban abortions after 15 weeks. Pro-life activists are pressing Liberals to determine where they draw the line on life. These activists seem to want to understand why pro-choice activists support life at 16 weeks but not at 15 weeks. What does a one-week difference truly mean?
