Biden Blames Trump ‘Feeding’ Republican Party ‘Extreme Elements’ With ‘The Big Lie’ For Lack of Bipartisanship

In an Friday night appearance on the “Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon, President Joe Biden had some harsh words for fromer President Donald Trump and his supporters, blaming them for the lack of bipartisanship.

Biden initially told Fallon that part of the reason why he was late to taping for the show was because he was at the funeral of former Senator Bob Dole.

Then, Biden claimed that Dole asked him on his deathbed whether he would do Dole’s eulogy, adding, “We’re friends. We disagree, but we’re friends.”

“We used to have an awful lot of that relationship & it still exists except that the QAnon & the extreme elements of the Republican Party & what Donald Trump keeps sort of—seems to me—feeding, you know, with the Big Lie. It makes it awful hard. There’s uhh — and I think most Republicans — in Congress would agree with me,” Biden stammered.

Additionally, Biden blamed the “Trump arm” of the Republican party for not showing up at the Kennedy Center for the Kennedy Center Honors while Trump was in the White House.

Of course, as NPR previously noted, three of the five artists set to be honored in 2017 had either expressed a specific intent to boycott the traditional White House reception before the event or were said to be considering it.

The Kennedy Center Honors is considered to be the premier social event in Washington D.C.

Comedian David Letterman was thrilled to see the Bidens at the event, which took place last Sunday and had said in his opening remarks, ““It is quite nice — very nice — to see the presidential box once again being occupied.”

Trump hater Bette Midler was among the five honorees at the event.
