Biden Gets Snippy With Lester Holt Over Inflation Question, Accuses Him of Being a Little Bit of a ‘Wise Guy’

Joe Biden got snippy with NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt after he asked him a question about inflation and accused him of being a little bit of a “wise guy.”

The exchange came during Biden’s first interview of the year and his first formal interview since taking office.

NBC plans to air the interview, which was taped in Culpeper, Virginia, during the Super Bowl pregame show at an exact time to be determined.

Holt told Biden, “I think it was back in July, you said inflation was going to be temporary. I think a lot of Americans are wondering what your definition of temporary is.”

“Well, you’re being a wise guy with me a little bit and I understand, that’s your job,” Biden snapped back at Holt.

Biden stumbled a bit before suggesting that the “reason” for the inflation was due to the supply chain crisis and a lack of chips for new cars.

In a tweet where he shared the clip of the exchange, the special advisor for communications for Ted Cruz, Steve Guest, noted, “Inflation had (it’s) biggest spike since 1982.”

Biden previously called Fox News’ Peter Doocy a “stupid son of a b**tch” after he asked a question about inflation, so it seems that Holt got off easy.

In another part of the full preview of the interview that aired from NBC, Holt also asked Biden, “When can Americans expect some relief from this soaring inflation?”

“According to Nobel laureates, fourteen of them that contacted me and a number of corporate leaders, it ought to be able to start to taper off as we go through this year,” Biden responded.

Biden added, “In the meantime, I’m going to do everything in my power to deal with the big points that are impacting most people in their homes.”
