As we previously reported, “The 45th President Donald Trump delivered a brutal takedown after CNN president Jeff Zucker resigned today.
In a statement released through his Save America PAC, Trump declared, ‘Jeff Zucker, a world-class sleezebag, who has headed ratings and real-news-challenged CNN for far too long, has been terminated for numerous reasons, but predominantly because CNN has lost its way with viewers and everybody else.‘
‘Now is a chance to put Fake News in the backseat because there may not be anything more important than straightening out the LameStream Media in our Country, and in the case of CNN, throughout the world,’ Trump explained.
Zucker issued a memo where he announced his resignation, which he claimed was due to an undisclosed romantic relationship with another senior executive at the company.“
Stelter went on “Reliable Sources” Sunday and said that “Everyone is lawyered up” following the mess they have been through in the last few months. He also said that Chris Cuomo may consider suing WarnerMedia, a parent company of CNN, for the rest of the salary in his contract.
While an investigation found that Allison Gollust let “former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, for whom she was once a top aide, to determine the topics discussed in interviews on the network in March 2020 during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic”, according to The Wrap, Stelter downplayed their findings.
“I have spoken with multiple anchors who interviewed the governor here on CNN, and none of them saw signs of interference. This material about Gollust surprised them,” Stelter said.
On the outside looking in, many see CNN as a dumpster fire. The once prestigious news network has become scandal-ridden as its ratings continue to drop. Many on the inside may see CNN as a sinking ship and may try to get out before getting caught up in its “legal mess”.
