California Governor Newsom Requiring All Students Grades K-12 to be Vaccinated

Democrat Californa Governor Gavin Newsom has announced he will be requiring all students in California to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

“BREAKING: CA will require our kids to get the COVID-19 vaccine to come to school. This will go into effect following full FDA approval. Our schools already require vaccines for measles, mumps and more. Why? Because vaccines work. This is about keeping our kids safe & healthy”

Some on the right have pointed out that more children died from the flu in 2018 than have from COVID-19 in 2020. However, during the 2018 flu season, the flu vaccine was not required for California students.

While young students will be forced to be vaccinated, there has yet to be a vaccine mandate come down from Newsom for teachers. Some may wonder why should students have to get the vaccine but not teachers who are older and therefore more likely to be hospitalized or die from Covid-19?

While this is the first statewide vaccine mandate for grades K-12, many may speculate this certainly won’t be the last as liberal governors in other states may follow suit. Either way, there are certainly going to be lawsuits taken up following this order as some may see it as a violation of one’s medical freedom.

Those who refuse the vaccine won’t be able to go to school or get an education anywhere in the state except private schools. However, private schools may also require the vaccine and are expensive to many parents.
