Can’t Cancel Him: Morgan Wallen Wins CMA Album of the Year After PC Police Fail to Ruin his Career

On Monday night, country music singer Morgan Wallen took home the CMA award for Album of the Year. This amazing accomplishment comes to the singer just a year after he was banned by the Academy of Country Music Awards for audio that was released of him joking with friends and using the N-word.

The outrage and backlash after the audio went viral seems to have subsided and didn’t seem to have much effect on Wallen’s professional career overall. Initially, he lost sponsors, his agent and faced a ban by ACM.

His album ‘Dangerous: The Double Album’ was released in January of 2021. Despite harsh reviews from critics, Wallen took home Album of the Year. The album charted number one in yearend chart performance in the United States and Canada.

Wallen has sold out multiple tour dates on his ongoing tour. He was also invited to play the Grand Ole Opry earlier this year.

Morgan started his acceptance speech, “When I started this album, I was a kid. By the time I put it out, I was a father. That’s become more important to me than anything else. To my son, this album and this award will signify that his daddy was a fighter, and he chased his dreams and worked hard to make them a reality.”

Wallen then went on to thank songwriters, artists, everyone who has helped him on his way, his family, his lord and savior Jesus Christ, and finally his fans.

Wallen did make an apology for the released audio, donated to ‘social justice’ groups, and checked himself into rehab.

The cancel culture seems to have been beaten in the case of Wallen as he has clearly moved on from the scandal.
