Chris Cuomo, Embarrassed by Brother, Ignores Fox News Reporter, Who Asks About Governor’s Resignation

When confronted by a Fox News reporter, after his brother, former Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo, Chris Cuomo ignores all questions about his brother’s resignation.

Chris had spent part of the day Tuesday in the Hamptons on his speedboat. When disembarking from the boat a reporter from FOX News approached the uncomfortable Cuomo.

The reporter asks Chris as he departs the dock, “Have you spoken to your brother today, sir?” “Of course ” Chris retorts. The reporter then asks more pointed questions regarding Andrew’s resignation. Starting with, “Did you advise him to step down?” Cuomo watches the reporter but doesn’t answer the question.

The next question is relayed, “Are you continuing to advise him?” Cuomo continues to head toward his vehicle. “Do you think that’s an ethical conflict?”

By his facial expressions and lack of answers to the questions, Chris seems rather annoyed with the reporter. As he walks past the reporter Cuomo says, “I think you’ve got a job to do and I’m lettin’ you do it.” The reporter thanks Cuomo for that.

As Cuomo gets to his vehicle the reporter asks, “Is your brother coming to East Hampton?” Chris replies, “Yes if you wait here he’ll be here in five minutes.” The reporter, again thanks him for answering his question. Cuomo gets into his truck and shuts the door. The reporter continues, “Do you think he’ll be accepted in East Hampton? Do you believe the women sir?” Chris starts his car and the reporter asks, “Whom do you believe, do you believe the women’s stories, did you counsel your brother to malign them?” Cuomo pulls out of the parking spot and the reporter asks one more question, “Do you think there should be an investigation at CNN?” This is where the video ends.

In May it was revealed that Chris had taken part in strategy calls, and advised his brother on how to respond to the sexual harassment allegations. Media Right News reported :

Today, it was outed that Chris Cuomo instead gave his brother “inappropriate” advice on the scandal instead.

Specifically, his employer admitted that he participated in strategy sessions Gov Cuomo on how to handle the sexual harassment allegations made against him, calling their star anchor’s involvement “inappropriate.”

Fox News reported that CNN acknowledged Chris Cuomo’s involvement but said he would not be disciplined for his conduct.

Many journalists and affiliates at CNN were unhappy about the revelation, we reported:

CNN has decided, at least when it comes to Chris Cuomo, to do nothing about him being involved in the aftermath of sexual harassment allegations his brother Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo is currently facing. According to The Hill, President of CNN Jeff Zucker said, “Temporarily suspending Cuomo would be pointless, Zucker replied, and would only be “punishment for the sake of punishing.” Zucker has also stated, “CNN didn’t have special rules only for Cuomo while adding that having a powerful governor as a brother was a “very unique” situation.

While Zucker seemingly is doing nothing about Cuomo’s actions, anchors including Jake Tapper have some words for Cuomo. Tapper is reported as saying, in an interview with The New York Times, that Cuomo put CNN in “a bad spot.” Continuing with, “I cannot imagine a world in which anybody in journalism thinks that that was appropriate.”

Brian Stelter, host of Reliable Sources asks, “If Chris Cuomo wants to call into strategy sessions with his brother’s aides, shouldn’t he take a leave of absence from CNN?” The panel he had on for comments agreed that would have been appropriate and made things transparent. They went on to discuss the banter segments he had with Andrew Cuomo during what they called the “worst part of the pandemic”.

Stelter asked if this was the “original sin?” One of the commentators agreed that yes it was, but that it would be hard for CNN to punish him now for those segments. Allowing Cuomo to use his brother on his show may have been the gateway for Chris to believe that what he was doing wouldn’t come under scrutiny.

There are now calls for an investigation into Chris Cuomo and his involvement with his brother’s situation. It remains to be seen if CNN will do anything at all. CNN’s previous inaction on disciplining Cuomo was to seemingly do nothing. Some speculated that was because he was the bother of the Governor of New York, which gave CNN special access. Now that Andrew has vacated his position will this reflect on Chris? We will be watching to see and bring you updates.
