A video shared today by Bill Neidhardt, who is the press secretary to NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio, is going viral and shows Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) dancing with a maskless Stephen Colbert.
Colbert recently had made headlines after he dispelled a report that he attended former President Barack Obama’s birthday party as he said that he was cut from the guest list after the party was scaled back due to the recent outbreak of COVID.
Apparently, Colbert was able to make it to a massive NYC event today, a “Homecoming” concert and he was summoned onto the makeshift dance floor by Schumer.
Neidhardt described the cringeworthy dance, which also included another woman in the clip, as “backstage antics.”
Host Jesse Kelly condemned the dance in a tweet where he stated, “10,000 American civilians trapped behind an army of barbarians in a foreign land. This is how much they care.”

GOP Congressman Lee Zeldin (NY) also had harsh words for Schumer as he quote tweeted Neidhardt and suggested, “Maybe once @SenSchumer is done dancing with @StephenAtHome, he can call @POTUS & get him to sign the Pre-Landfall Emergency Declaration for our state. The current forecast is predicting a direct hit to Long Island by Hurricane Henri in hours. Stop clowning around & do something!”

Ultimately, New York City shut down its star-studded concert over the threat of severe weather as Hurricane Henri churned closer.
The concert was described as being held to mark the city’s “homecoming” in the wake of the pandemic’s worst devastation.
