“Home Improvement” legend Tim Allen blasted Will Smith’s assault against comedian Chris Rock last night. Earlier today, Allen took to Twitter to share his feelings on the embarrassing mess.
“It’s not ok to come up on stage and hit a dude cause you don’t like the humor. It’s not ok at a Comedy Club, concert hall or hosting some cheeseball award show. Chris Rock is a stand up comedian and a standup guy who carried on. I think I would have run.”

Many others have spoken out. Smith initially apologized on stage last night but not to Rock directly. After his Oscar was threatened he apologized in more detail on social media.
“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally. I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness. I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us. I am a work in progress. Sincerely, Will”
There is apparently a fake social media post saying that Chris Rock also apologized, but others have sought to debunk it:
“Chris Rock has not yet issued a statement. There is a statement going around purporting to be from Rock that is not from him, per his team. It’s the one that starts, “As a comedian it can be difficult to understand…”

We reported in detail on this incident in other stories:
Some Democrat politicians encouraged the violence at first:
The original story:
To us, Tim Allen’s take is solid. We stand with Allen and think Rock is a comedian and it was fair game. Tim Allen is known to be a libertarian-leaning conservative but often stays away from controversy.
He is a successful touring comedian and is also known for “Last Man Standing”, “The Santa Clause” and many other things. In our view, for him to go out of his way to speak on this means it’s a big deal and an embarrassment for our nation.
Some may argue that Hollywood, in general, has become an embarrassment to our nation. We all like entertainment, but want it with less propaganda and bias. Tricks like the one Smith pulled are only the icing on the rotten cake.
Perhaps Rock should win an extra award, and Smith should give his up and take a vacation for his mental health. It seems that after Covid-19 and BLM riots, many people have lost their sense of well-being and common sense in our opinion.
