DeSantis Press Secretary Destroys Left-Wing Journo Who Suggested He Might Withhold FEMA Support For Political Reasons If Elected President

We reported earlier that Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis announced today that he has turned down a request by Joe Biden to send Florida National Guard members to the District of Columbia for his State of the Union address.

The announcement by DeSantis triggered many on the left including, “journalist” Sam Stein, who works for MSNBC and POLITICO.

Stein quote tweeted DeSantis and asked, “Worth contemplating that, as president, DeSantis could adopt this approach too: FEMA help for politicians he supports but not for others?”

DeSantis’s press secretary Christina Pushaw was on it, however, and destroyed Stein in a reply to his tweet.

“That’s literally what Biden actually did; his Administration denied FEMA individual assistance to Lee and Collier County tornado survivors a couple weeks ago,” Pushaw explained.

Pushaw wondered, “Have you reported about this yet, or are you just writing political fiction as usual?”

It is unclear if that rejection by FEMA led to DeSantis making his decision, but clearly, Pushaw was prepared with that response to anyone who questioned it.

On Feb. 15, it was reported that Community Director Samantha Bequer from the Florida Division of Emergency Management said that Federal Aid was denied by FEMA.

It was also reported that the State of Florida will appeal a rejection from FEMA for the grant money intended to help residents of the January 16 tornado outbreak that struck Southwest Florida counties.

As we reported earlier today, DeSantis said in a tweet, “Last week, the Biden Administration requested the assistance of State National Guards to deploy to Washington D.C.”

“I have rejected this request — there will be no @FLGuard sent to D.C. for Biden’s State of the Union,” DeSantis declared.
