Fox News announced Thursday that Shannon Bream will be the permanent anchor of “Fox News Sunday”. Bream is replacing the former Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, who left the network for the now defunct CNN+.
Bream will be the first woman to anchor the show in its 26-year history. She will officially take the reigns on September 11th. Bream is the network’s chief legal correspondent and currently hosts “Fox News @ Night”. Bream has hosted “Fox News @ Night” since 2017.
In a prepared statement, Bream said, “It has been an honor to cover major news throughout Washington over the last 15 years at Fox News. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to host a Sunday show and look forward to this new role.”
Wallace had anchored the show for nearly two decades before he jumped ship.
In a video released last year, that can be seen below, Bream explains she had wanted to come to Fox News for quite some time. Her father was one of the motivating factors in her pursuit of a job with Fox News.
