DOJ Ordered By Judge to File a Response to Judicial Watch Motion to Unseal Mar-a-Lago Raid Search Warrant

It was reported today that the DOJ has been ordered by a judge to file a response to a Judicial Watch motion to unseal the Mar-a-Lago raid search warrant.

Whether it will ultimately lead to the warrant being unsealed and the information being given to Judicial Watch is unclear at this point, but the effort is currently being made to make that happen.

Tom Fitton appeared on Fox Business earlier today and mentioned the effort by his group to get the warrant unsealed.

“We’re asking for the basis for this raid and we know there are going to be documents and we know that someone at the FBI is going to say, ‘This is a serious issue and the judge rubber-stamped it,'” Fitton explained.

Fitton added, “It’s not about the substance of the raid, it’s about the fact that it took place and there’s this process.”

Politico’s Kyle Cheney reported, “JUST IN: Judicial Watch motion to unseal the (possible) sealed search warrant for Mar-a-Lago has hit the docket.”

“BREAKING: Magistrate Judge Reinhart is asking for DOJ to respond to Judicial Watch’s unsealing request for (what I presume is) the Mar-a-Lago warrant by COB on Aug. 15,” Cheney later reported.

According to Cheney, “the Albany Times-Union has also made a motion to unseal the search warrant, and Magistrate Reinhart has said DOJ can file a consolidated response to all unsealing motions.”

“And the Times-Union has made an identical motion to unseal a second sealed search-warrant case that was also docketed on Friday. It’s unclear which of the two is the Mar-a-Lago warrant.”

Democrats responding to Cheney are suggesting that Trump or his lawyers should release the warrant, but Team Trump has balked at doing so thus far.
