In a recent tweet, Donald Trump Jr. accused House Republicans who are refusing to vote for the current Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for House Speaker of “empowering those who impeached Trump.”
It seems that Trump Jr. is siding with those like U.S. House Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who retweeted his tweet.
Trump Jr. shared an article from Breitbart in the tweet and said, “So in their quest to ‘own the establishment’ by stopping Kevin McCarthy, Andy Biggs and others are actually in effect empowering those who impeached Donald Trump.”
“This is a Democrat dream come true for a GOP Congress. Genius move guys,” Trump Jr. claimed.

The article suggested that House Democrats are reportedly floating the idea of installing outgoing House Rep. Upton (R-MI) as Speaker and noted that he voted to impeach Trump.
However, in a statement, Upton said that he fully supports McCarthy for Speaker and it seems pretty unlikely that so-called centrist Republicans would actually vote for someone who won’t even be a member of the House at that point, in our opinion.
As we reported earlier, U.S. House Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) shared a video on his social media titled “The Real Kevin McCarthy.”
In the video, former “establishment” GOP Speaker of the House Paul Ryan describes McCarthy as “the right person” for Speaker of the House.
While Trump Jr. and others can accuse the holdouts of wanting to “own the establishment,” it seems pretty clear that many Republican voters would prefer someone else as well.
Trump Jr.’s tweet was met with many telling him that they would prefer someone else other than McCarthy, assuredly to his chagrin.

What a stupid stupid man, always liked the guy but no more. Apparently they have some deal of some sort with McCarthy, absolutely nothing else can explain their support of the guy that so viscously stabbed them in the back.
