Elon Musk Confronts Adam Schiff on Request to Ban Journalist, Tom Fitton asks if U.S. House will Rectify Situation: ‘Unethical Abuse of Office’

On Tuesday, a new installment of the Twitter files was released by Matt Taibbi, labeled “Twitter and the FBI “Belly Button”. Taibbi disclosed an email that shows House Intelligence Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) had requested that journalist Paul Sperry be banned from the platform.

Schiff, it appears alleges that Sperry and another user were QAnon conspiracists that were harassing one of his staffers.

Most of what was requested by Schiff’s office was answered with “no”, and a brief explanation, however, the ask about banning Sperry’s account was met “we’ll review these accounts again”.

“They also received an astonishing variety of requests from officials asking for individuals they didn’t like to be banned. Here, the office for Democrat and House Intel Committee chief Adam Schiff asks Twitter to ban journalist Paul Sperry:”

Twitter CEO Elon Musk tweeted at Schiff asking, “Hey @RepAdamSchiff, what’s this?”

President of Judicial Watch, Tom Fitton then answered the question directed at Schiff.

“Unethical abuse of office by Schiff to censor journalist and other Americans who had questions about/objected to Trump impeachment. Will House take action?”

It also seems that a list of almost 250,000 accounts was compiled that were labeled “suspicious” based on that they were following two or more Chinese diplomat accounts. The request was made to suspend the accounts according to Musk. The list included journalists as well as Canadian officials, this list came from a U.S. government agency.

“US govt agency demanded suspension of 250k accounts, including journalists & Canadian officials!”

It will be interesting to see how and if the media and Schiff respond to this latest situation. Previously we reported that, in our opinion, Reps. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Ted Lieu (D-CA) appeared to try to create a subterfuge to distract from the Twitter files for potentially the reasons in this article. We will have to see how everything plays out, however.
