NBC Source: Donald Trump Smells Blood in the Water, Refuses to Double Down on Kevin McCarthy Support, Will ‘See How it all Works Out’ Instead

Today, the U.S. House of Representatives failed to successfully vote to confirm a new speaker of the house. Many expected the GOP to select U.S. House Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). This is because he was the minority leader previously, and the GOP now has a slight house majority. However, many Republican voters as well as a few stalwart congressmen and women did not take well to the idea that McCarthy was a “shoo-in”.

U.S. House Rep. Bob Good (R-VA) has been working with a handful of others to try to mount an “insurgency” campaign for someone other than Kevin McCarthy. This has been in the news for some time and has been well-reported by Media Right News and others. However, many other media outlets did not take this seriously.

Today on Fox News you can tell that the media is indeed realizing how staunch these Republicans are and many are asking who may take McCarthy’s place. Even though U.S. House Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) has said he supports McCarthy, many want him to run for speaker anyway, or one of a couple of other people. The campaign for Jordan seems to be picking up steam however and is also supported by Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Lauren Boebert (R-CO).

U.S. House Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) however, has joined forces with what many call the “swamp” and has been advocating against the “insurgency” to the GOP status quo.

Many on that same side have continued to pound the drum that “MAGA” candidates won’t support the man who former President Trump also supports. However, a source from NBC says Trump is not necessarily ready to ride the McCarthy train to the bitter end should things continue to go downhill for him as they have today which you can read about in many of our earlier reports. Garrett Haake says:

“EXCLUSIVE: Former President Trump declined to say if he’s sticking by his endorsement of Kevin McCarthy for speaker tonight, telling me in a brief phone interview he’s had calls all day asking for support, and “We’ll see what happens. We’ll see how it all works out.”

When I asked directly if he was sticking by McCarthy, who did not clinch the gavel today after three floor votes, Mr. Trump told me “we’ll see what happens,” and ended our conversation.”

Gaetz tweeted:

“Trump knows McCarthy can’t get there.”

Tomorrow the house is expected to reconvene and continue the debate for the speaker at noon. Stay tuned to Media Right News for more updates as we are able to get them out to you.
