Elon Musk Polls Users on Whether or not He Should Remain Twitter CEO, Warns ‘Be Careful What You Wish For, As You Might Get It’

Given all of the recent heat, it would be understandable that perhaps Elon Musk is having second thoughts about remaining as CEO of Twitter.

In a tweet today, Musk created a poll asking users whether or not he should remain the CEO of Twitter. “Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll.” Musk said in the tweet.

As of right now, the poll is at 57.2% “yes” and 42.8% “no” with 9 hours left and over 7 million votes.

Musk warned in a separate tweet not long thereafter, “As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for, as you might get it.”

In a recent tweet, Musk said, “Those who want power are the ones who least deserve it.”

Earlier today, Twitter announced “We recognize that many of our users are active on other social media platforms. However, we will no longer allow free promotion of certain social media platforms on Twitter.”

After an outcry from even some of Musk’s supporters, he walked back the move and said, “Policy will be adjusted to suspending accounts only when that account’s *primary* purpose is promotion of competitors, which essentially falls under the no spam rule.”

In a tweet prior to the poll, Musk explained, “Going forward, there will be a vote for major policy changes. My apologies. Won’t happen again.”

  1. I wish I had known about the vote & it would have lasted more than a day..I love & honor Elon for what he is doing..All the illegal things that TWITTER has been doing NEEDS to be exposed & hopefully any corruption he is aware of.
